Trials Lead us to Prayer

Trials help us lean on God.  If I never had a trial, I wonder sometimes if I would ever look to God.  If I never had a trial, I would think I could handle things on my own.

There is a song, “On My knees” song by Jaci Velasquez:

There are days when I feel
The best of me is ready to begin
Then there are days when I feel
I’m letting go and soaring on the wind
‘Cause I’ve learned in laughter or in pain
How to survive!

I get on my knees!  I get on my knees!
There I am before the Love that changes me
See I don’t know how but there’s power
When I’m on my knees

I can be in a crowd or by myself and almost anywhere
When I feel there’s a need to talk with God.  He is Emmanuel
When I close my eyes, no darkness there,  There’s only light!

I get on my knees!  I get on my knees!
There I am before the Love that changes me
See I don’t know how, but there’s power
In the blue skies, in the midnight
When I’m on my knees

We can go to the very throne of God as we are on our knees and ask for anything we need. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

So next time a trial come my way, I am going to be sure to call on the Lord and ask him what is to be learned, how will I be strengthened, or what is the purpose of this pain.

This is Terri Byars encouraging you to stay in prayer.
