Breakfast: Jimmy Dean’s ham and cheese omelet.
Lunch: Schlotzsky’s Deli. I had a Roast beef sandwich and chips. Not the healthiest lunch, but it’s what I was craving.
Went to the gym today again. I’m really loving it there. I didn’t go Tuesday or Wednesday, so I tried to spend more time there today. Some treadmill, bicycle, weight machines. Spent about an hour and a half there. It’s a good place to go really for stress relief. I feel like I’m taking a break from the regular routine of work, go home, eat, watch tv. It’s like my own time I spend doing what I want to do.
My goal is to just eat healthy and go to the gym regularly. I’m not going overboard with it like I have in the past. Just trying my best to stay moderately healthy and exercise when I can.
Day 2. What I ate:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs and cheese
Lunch: Apple and Lance sour cream and chives cracker sandwiches (Ate at my desk, too busy to eat lunch)
Skipped the gym today. I forgot my gym bag and just went home and started doing laundry and writing this blog.
Dinner: Salad with mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, snow peas, ranch dressing.
I’m starting really lite, but I’m not really hungry when I think about it. I only want to eat when I am really hungry. So I need to ask myself the question: Am I hungry?
I will go to the gym again. No more excuses. The big test is tomorrow, halloween….Stay tuned in.
Day 1 of my “New Me By 53” project went well. This is what I ate:
Breakfast: Jimmy Dean’s ham and cheese omelet. Lunch: Salad bar at Jason’s Deli
Snack at work: 2 Lance cracker sandwiches (cream cheese and chives flavored – 33 calories a piece)
After work I went to the gym and walked 3 miles on a treadmill. I enjoyed my first workout there. I plan on going 5 or 6 times a week alternating between cardio on one day and circuit training on the next. They have some nice circuit training rooms at Planet Fitness to work out several different muscle groups.
Now I think I will grab a bag of salad, spinach and arugula. Maybe I can find some other veggies to throw in there with it. My next official weigh-in is on Monday morning.
My husband and I have a big weight loss goal. My husband, because he has to lose it as a requirement for the National Guard in which he works part-time one weekend a month. Me, because I am pre-diabetic, and I need to lose weight before it becomes full-blown diabetes. So we joined Planet Fitness today. My goal is to lose 50 pounds — again.
I lost weight back in 2010. I lost 50 pounds from January 1 to April 30. That is 50 pounds in 4 months. But with the stress of life and more trials coming my way, I started eating more sweets and put all the weight back on. I would say I could almost be bulimic because I have gained and lost so many times. I am over 50 now and really want to stay healthy. Especially since I am pre-diabetic now. It seems like that would be a slap in the face and keep me on the right track, but I fell back to food again for comfort.
This is a nutritionally dense food pyramid. What that means is that fruits, vegetables and beans have the most nutrition per ounce of food. Sweets, beef, cheese and milk – they are just for pleasure and taste. There is not as much nutrition in them.
This is what I plan to eat. Vegetables and fruits daily. Whole grains, fish, poultry and eggs 2 or 3 times a week. I need to be serious about this. It is my life we are talking about. I want to honor God with my body. I have tried and thank God, He knows my heart is pure and my intentions are to please Him with my body. He knows that I have weaknesses and he loves and accepts me anyway.
